Above Ground Pool Deck and Stairs

This custom above-ground pool deck and staircase project was designed to transform a standard backyard pool into a more functional, inviting, and elevated outdoor living space. Located in North Easton, Massachusetts, the homeowners wanted a solution that made their pool easier to access while creating additional room for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying the summer months.

The finished design features a spacious wrap-around deck that seamlessly follows the shape of the pool, creating a generous platform for lounge chairs, towels, and outdoor gatherings. A wide set of stairs provides a comfortable and natural transition from the lawn to the elevated pool area, eliminating the inconvenience of a traditional pool ladder while giving the entire space a more finished, permanent feel.

Built with pressure-treated framing and decking, the structure was designed with durability and long-term performance in mind. Code-compliant wood railings provide added safety around the elevated deck while maintaining an open view of the surrounding yard. Galvanized hardware and carefully constructed connections further ensure the deck is prepared to withstand constant exposure to sunlight, moisture, and the demands of an active pool environment.

Every element was thoughtfully planned to balance functionality, safety, and visual appeal. Rather than simply surrounding the pool, the deck creates a dedicated outdoor area where the homeowners can comfortably spend time before and after swimming. The result is a backyard that feels more cohesive, accessible, and purposefully designed.

Completed in approximately three to four days, this project demonstrates how thoughtful craftsmanship can completely change the way an existing pool and backyard are experienced. What was once simply an above-ground pool is now a polished outdoor destination with room to relax, entertain, and enjoy throughout the summer.
