Siding Installation

Protect and refresh your home's exterior.

Siding is your home's raincoat, and on the coast that coat takes a beating from wind-driven rain, salt air, and the steady freeze-thaw that pries open any gap. We do full tear-offs, not cover-ups. Going down to the sheathing lets us see what's actually happening underneath, replace any rot or water-damaged board, and start the new envelope from a sound surface instead of trapping problems behind a fresh face.

What goes on before the siding matters most

The part nobody sees does the real work. We install a continuous house wrap and weather barrier, flash every window and door so water that gets behind the siding is directed back out, and address insulation while the wall is open. It's an easy win you only get once. Done right, this layer keeps moisture out of your framing and your heating bill in check, long after the siding color stops being the thing you notice.

On the finish side, we install vinyl, James Hardie fiber cement, engineered wood, and cedar clapboard, and we wrap the job with crisp PVC trim that won't rot at the corners and around the windows. Fiber cement and cedar in particular live and die by the trim and the caulk lines, so we treat that detail work as part of the install rather than an afterthought. The goal is an exterior that looks sharp on day one and is still keeping water out a decade in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about this service.

We don't recommend it and we don't do it. Siding over hides any rot or moisture damage underneath and skips the chance to fix the weather barrier and flashing. A full tear-off costs a bit more up front and saves you from far bigger repairs later.

It depends on your priorities. Vinyl is cost-effective and low-maintenance. James Hardie fiber cement resists fire, impact, and salt air better and holds paint beautifully, which suits a lot of coastal Massachusetts homes. We'll compare both for your house honestly.

It can. With the wall open during a tear-off, we can add or upgrade insulation and seal up air leaks. That work is expensive to do at any other time. Paired with a proper weather barrier, that's where the real efficiency gains come from.

Most single-family homes run one to two weeks depending on size, the amount of trim, and any sheathing repairs we find once the old siding is off. We keep the site buttoned up and weather-tight at the end of each day.
